He’s always there to show his unconditional love and support. He’s his daughter’s first love. And his son’s all-time hero. He is dad, and he deserves much more than a new set of pliers this Father’s Day.
So if you’re looking for a more meaningful way to celebrate that special dad in your life, we’ve got you covered. Here are a few simple ways to make this Father’s Day one to remember. Best of all, there’s no trip to the hardware store required.
Make a journal or memory book. Include pictures, jot down special memories, and ask the kids to write down their favorite things about dad.
Have an interview with dad. This can be as serious or as whimsical as you wish. Ask him about childhood memories, what he wanted to be when he grew up, how he spent summer vacations as a kid, etc. Record the interview for a life-long family keepsake.
Have a gift basket scavenger hunt. As he and the kids look for clues, Dad collects some of his favorites into a gift basket. Include a CD, movie, or book, along with some crossword puzzles, snacks, or anything else you think he might like.
Plan an afternoon around his interests. Whether it’s a sports game, fishing trip, or nature hike, he’ll love doing something he’s passionate about with those he loves the most.
Build something. If the dad in your life is the handyman type, have the kids build something with him. It could be as simple as a small bird feeder or as complex as a new piece of furniture. He will love sharing his skills and time making something the whole family can enjoy for years to come.
Give him the day off. Have the kids take over some household chores like taking out the trash and recycling, washing the car, or weeding the garden. Finish the day off with his favorite home-cooked meal.
We salute you, Dads, and everything you do to make yours a more loving and secure family. Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Baylor Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing.
